The arrest of Rappler CEO Maria Ressa has shaken the nation after reportedly Ressa violating the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 last February 13, 2019, about the article that was released before the Republic Act constitutionalized.
Furthermore, as media students, we were extremely heavy-hearted after observing the incident about prohibiting Aika Rey, multimedia reporter of Rappler, to cover the arrest warrant of Maria Ressa.

We, the future media practitioners, will never let anyone hinder us fulfilling our responsibility — to tell the truth through our passion for the good of Filipino people fearlessly.
No journalist deserves to be threatened, arrested and stopping for opening the eyes of the youth. Instead, we need more support and independence. Journalism nowadays is scary, what will happen if they will go after us? Will we die? Will we die for serving truth for our country?
As members of Oracle, the official student publication of Freshmen Mass Communication
of St. Scholastica's College - Manila, we stand with Maria Ressa and for the rights of every Filipino Journalists, and we will continue to hold the line and defend press freedom.
